Budget-Friendly Travel Ideas and Tips for Affordable US Trips

I’m looking for ideas for fun, cheap trips either in the US or close by! I’m kind of new to planning my own travel, so I’d love suggestions for destinations that are budget-friendly, and any tips for saving on transportation, places to stay, or things to do.

I’ll just add: don’t write off smaller cities or state parks-they’re WAY cheaper than touristy hotspots, and you’ll get a more unique experience. Megabuses and Flixbus can be shockingly affordable for getting around if you’re not driving. Also, local museums and art crawls often have “pay what you wish” days. I usually pack snacks and refillable water bottles to avoid overpriced meals. And, honestly, don’t be afraid of hostels or camping, even in the US-some are actually really nice!
